Gana Diop’s Sabar Group continues the musical legacy of their father, Ndongo Diop, a central figure in Senegalese percussion. After moving to Pikine – a city in the Dakar Region – in 1978, Ndongo played a primary role in shaping the area’s vibrant percussion culture. Today, the group honors the traditions of their spiritual ancestor by performing music rooted in their rich heritage – music that uplifts and brings joy to all who hear it.
